Lauren (Ren) Coakley is an undergraduate student from Washington D.C., pursuing a BSAG in Entomology. Since the fall of 2023, she has been working with Jesna Varghese, studying the effects of a compound on the activity of luciferase reporters in strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. Graduating in the spring of 2025, she intends to pursue graduate studies in entomology, looking to apply her microbiology knowledge to her parasitoid wasp research.
