Simon primarily studies global transcriptional changes in P. aeruginosa in response to different genetic perturbations with a focus on citrate and glycerol metabolism and on the Nitro-PTS system. He is a mathemetician-physicist-turned-microbiologist with expertise in bacterial genetics and microfludics-coupled fluorescence microscopy. He worked in the lab from June 2020 until December 2022, when he left the lab for an opportunity at a Vancouver, BC (Canada)-based biotech startup that aims to revolutionize transplant technology.
